This resource has been developed to help in the selection of management models for piped water supply systems in rural and smalltown contexts. It is also being made available as an external resource for other organisations, including national governments and development partners. It is intended to be a globally applicable, generic guide, and is therefore not meant to prescribe or champion any specific model in any given context, as there will always be particular issues and concerns to take into consideration; as such working with government to support and align with existing national management models, approaches and systems will always be a necessary first step.
