The Rural Institute for People’s Enlightenment, a registered non-governmental organization based in Tirupati, Andhra Pradesh, India, has been actively working since 1989 to advance rural and community development. Over the years, the organization has implemented a diverse range of programs and projects across key developmental sectors. These include the promotion of agriculture and horticulture, sustainable agricultural livelihoods, and natural and organic farming.

Significant emphasis has been placed on women’s empowerment and skill development to promote socio-economic inclusion. The Institute has also been extensively involved in irrigation water management, drinking water and sanitation (WASH), and the management of environmental and natural resources.

In the health sector, initiatives have focused on raising community health awareness and addressing antibiotic resistance (ABR & AMR). The organization has supported the formation and strengthening of Farmers Producer Organizations (FPOs) and has provided capacity-building support to community-based organizations (CBOs) and grassroots institutions.

Furthermore, the Institute has conducted comprehensive studies, surveys, monitoring, and evaluation activities throughout Andhra Pradesh, contributing to several major state and national programs such as APDPIP, APRPRP, SGSY, NGP, MGNREGS, TCS, Swajaladhara, the Sector Reforms Project, RKVY, and IKP.
