Supply Chain Assessment Tool

Description:

The following tool has been developed to provide a help in the assessment of supply chains for goods and services in rural water supply. The tool gives an analytical frame for the assessment of supply chains. The following paper explains how the tools is structured and what are the various steps to examine a supply chain.

The assessment tool can only help to review and analyse the supply chains it does not relieve oneself from formulating ideas and actions to improve the system. Nevertheless, based on a better understanding of the interrelation of the various factors and the weak and vulnerable points in the supply chain it should be possible to formulate remedial action that will help improving the sustainability of the supply chains.
