Le secteur de l’approvisionnement en eau potable en milieu rural a désespérément besoin d’investissements, cependant les financements doivent être ciblés de manière appropriée. Selon le programme conjoint de monitoring de l’OMS-UNICEF («WHO-UNICEF Joint Monitoring Programme »), plus de 740 millions de personnes dans le monde n’ont toujours pas accès à des sources d’eau améliorées, et la très grande majorité de ces personnes vivent en milieu rural.
Cette section est destinée aux bailleurs de fonds, trust, fondations et partenaires au développement qui sont à la recherche de conseils pour les guider dans leur processus de décision.
